What is it?

The EMMETT Technique is a unique form of body therapy – All our therapists are fully trained to treat you, your horses and dogs.

It involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as “Emmett points” to release tension in muscles.

The points are not the same as traditional trigger points or acupressure points or any other points described in any other therapy.

The pressure required to stimulate the EMMETT points does not need to be firm or painful. “No pain no gain” has no place in EMMETT Technique philosophy.

It is this combination of elements, unique to each individual, which creates the desired physical change.

How does it work?

It is suggested that the EMMETT Technique may interact with the body as described in the science of Critical Point Analysis which identifies that…

“In any highly complex system there is a specific, critical point at which the smallest input will result in the greatest change.”

For example a light touch on a small cog can halt the largest engine.

The EMMETT Technique Therapist can be compared to a body electrician who has the knowledge to locate these critical points and re-set them with the correct stimulation.

The stimulation is registered by the receiver’s nervous system and their brain responds by sending new instructions back to affect the physical state of the localised area.

The way the therapy works can be thought of similar to the workings of a touch-screen. By using this specific touch the body responds by communicating with the muscle memory and there is a change in muscle tension and action resulting in a fast relief of muscular pain and discomfort .

The result is often instantaneous physical change.

What does an EMMETT treatment involve?

Clients can be treated seated, standing or lying down.

The treatment can be applied directly to the skin or done through clothing.

Sessions can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes depending how fast the body reacts to the treatment.

When should I use Emmett therapy?

With the use of this technique I can help relieve a variety of conditions including:

  • Back and hip discomfort
  • Neck and shoulder restriction and discomfort
  • Knee and ankle restrictions
  • Persistent heel and foot pain
  • Lymphatic and sinus congestion
  • Migraines or cluster headaches
  • Breathing restrictions
  • Abdominal cramps and bowel discomfort
  • Discomfort during pregnancy
  • Fluid retention

And much much more !!!!!

With the Emmett technique I can offer my human and animal clients a reduction in pain they are experiencing and an increased range of movement resulting in an improved quality of life. This non-invasive therapy often has an instantaneous result.

I can provide offer a service where I can bring my clinic to you. This could be in your home or office!

Some of the animal conditions I treat include:

  • Various injuries and lameness
  • Emotional problems
  • Stiffness
  • Decreased suppleness
  • Change in performance

I can also carry out maintenance treatments to keep people or animals in tip top condition to prevent injury.

Following a treatment I have found that most clients say “wow” or “I can’t believe it” and have big smiles on their faces. I have great results when treating animals. Happy owners of horses I have treated have said their horse has had a personality transplant and they are much happier. Feedback after the treatment is that the horse is so relaxed, supple and willing to work with no signs of discomfort.

“I treat people of all ages with a wide variety of problems from Athletes to people with chronic pain and mobility problems.”

Horses and Dogs need freedom of movement and their muscles need to be soft & supple to create peak performance – a tight restricted muscle causes tendon tears and loss of performance when stressed. How good would it be if we taught you how to assess your horse or dog to find the cause of any restriction and even more important how to easily release that restriction even on the day of an event…
